Guest care & clarity

Experience policies.

These policies help us prepare thoughtfully, protect the intimacy of each gathering, and give every guest a clear understanding of their reservation.

01

Reservations and payment

A reservation is confirmed only after full payment has been received. Seats are limited and are not held by inquiries, verbal commitments, or incomplete transactions.

A payment is considered received only after it has been successfully processed and CITK has issued a confirmation. A pending, declined, reversed, disputed, or incomplete payment does not create a confirmed reservation.

Each tasting page lists its reservation and payment deadline. Chemistry In The Kitchen (“CITK”) may close reservations earlier when an experience reaches capacity. Guests are responsible for providing accurate contact information so CITK can deliver confirmations, event updates, and a private location when applicable.

The purchaser is responsible for providing accurate information for every guest included in the reservation and for communicating these policies to those guests.

02

Refunds and seat transfers

Guests may request a refund through the published payment deadline for their tasting. After that deadline, purchases are nonrefundable because ingredients, beverages, staffing, and other preparations will have been committed for the confirmed guest count. Third-party processing or ticketing fees may be nonrefundable.

Approved refund requests will be submitted to the applicable payment provider within ten business days. The guest’s financial institution may require additional time to post the refund. Guests should contact CITK promptly about billing or reservation problems so CITK has an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

After the refund deadline, a confirmed reservation may be transferred once to another guest who satisfies the event’s age, identification, dietary, conduct, and other admission requirements. Transfer requests must reach inquirycitk@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the event and include the replacement guest’s name, email address, dietary information, and acceptance of these policies. A transfer is complete only after written confirmation from CITK. A seat may not be resold above its original purchase price.

03

Cancellation, rescheduling, and severe weather

If CITK cancels an experience and does not provide the purchased experience, guests will receive a refund to the original payment method through the applicable payment or ticketing platform whenever reasonably possible. The refund may exclude only third-party fees that the provider lawfully retains and that were clearly disclosed as nonrefundable before purchase.

If CITK reschedules an experience or makes a material change to its date, location, or principal offering, guests may accept the change, transfer the reservation, receive a CITK credit, or request a refund by the deadline in CITK’s notice. Unless circumstances require a shorter period, guests will have at least seven calendar days to respond.

CITK may make reasonable, nonmaterial adjustments to ingredients, courses, presentation, timing, chefs, or pairings because of availability, seasonality, quality, safety, or circumstances outside CITK’s reasonable control. Such nonmaterial adjustments do not ordinarily entitle a guest to a refund.

CITK may postpone, relocate, modify, or cancel an experience when severe weather, utility interruption, government action, venue unavailability, illness, safety concerns, or another circumstance outside CITK’s reasonable control makes the experience unsafe or impractical. CITK will make reasonable efforts to notify guests using the email address, telephone number, or other contact information supplied with the reservation. Guests are responsible for monitoring those communications before traveling to the event. CITK is not responsible for a guest’s separate transportation, lodging, childcare, or other personal expenses.

04

Allergies and dietary needs

Guests must disclose allergies and dietary restrictions before the published payment deadline. CITK will review each request and confirm in writing whether reasonable accommodation is possible for that menu.

Guests are responsible for providing complete and accurate information, including the allergen or restricted ingredient, the severity of the reaction, relevant cross-contact concerns, and other information reasonably requested by CITK. A dietary label such as “dairy-free,” “vegan,” or “gluten-free” may not provide enough information to assess an allergy accommodation.

Food may be prepared where common allergens are present, including milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame. When CITK accepts an accommodation, CITK will use reasonable food-safety and preparation precautions appropriate to the disclosed restriction. Nevertheless, CITK cannot guarantee that cross-contact will not occur. Some menus cannot accommodate every restriction without changing the intended experience. Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies should consider this limitation before reserving. Late requests may not be accommodated.

05

Alcohol, nonalcoholic pairings, and BYOB

Selected tastings may include alcoholic pairings. Guests may choose a thoughtfully prepared nonalcoholic pairing instead.

Alcohol is available only to guests age 21 or older who present valid government-issued identification. CITK may refuse or discontinue alcohol service when identification cannot be verified or continued service would be unsafe. BYOB is permitted only when allowed by applicable law, the venue, and the published terms for that event. Guests are responsible for arranging safe transportation.

06

Private locations, arrival, and conduct

Complete private-event addresses are provided only to confirmed guests and may not be publicly distributed. Admission may be limited to guests named on the reservation or an approved transfer.

Guests should arrive within the published arrival window. Because courses are served in sequence, CITK may be unable to delay service or repeat completed courses for late arrivals. Missing an event or arriving late does not create a right to a refund.

CITK may refuse entry or ask a guest to leave for threatening, discriminatory, disruptive, unsafe, or excessively intoxicated behavior. A guest removed for conduct or safety reasons is not entitled to a refund. A guest may be held responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for damage they or their accompanying minor intentionally or negligently cause.

Weapons, illegal drugs, unauthorized commercial activity, and outside food are prohibited unless expressly authorized by CITK. Lawfully possessed items and medically necessary food, medication, or accessibility aids will be handled consistent with applicable law.

07

Photography and guest privacy

CITK may photograph or record food, preparation, décor, table settings, and the general atmosphere of an experience. CITK will obtain permission before intentionally featuring an identifiable guest or using a guest’s testimonial in public advertising.

Guests may request not to be intentionally photographed by notifying CITK before the event or at check-in. CITK will make reasonable efforts to honor that request but cannot guarantee that a guest will never appear incidentally in wide-angle atmosphere photographs or in images independently captured by other attendees.

CITK will not intentionally use an identifiable minor’s image for public marketing without permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian. Guests must respect other attendees’ privacy and may not use photographs or recordings for commercial purposes without authorization.

08

Accessibility and other accommodations

Guests who need an accessibility-related accommodation should contact CITK before the published payment deadline, or as early as reasonably possible, at inquirycitk@gmail.com. CITK will review requests individually and communicate whether and how the accommodation can reasonably be provided at the selected location.

Because CITK experiences may occur at different private or third-party locations, accessibility features may vary. Event-specific accessibility information will be provided upon request when available.

09

Privacy

CITK may collect information guests voluntarily provide, including names, contact information, reservation records, dietary information, inquiry details, and communication preferences. This information is used to process reservations, respond to inquiries, provide event information, accommodate accepted guest needs, administer transfers or refunds, improve services, and send marketing messages when consent has been given.

Payments are handled by third-party payment and ticketing providers. CITK does not directly receive or store complete payment-card information submitted to those providers. CITK currently uses service providers that may include Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor, Square, MailerLite, Formspree, and website hosting or analytics providers. Information is shared only as reasonably necessary for those services or as required by law. CITK does not sell personal information.

CITK uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Guests may unsubscribe from marketing emails through the link in those messages. Transactional messages about an existing reservation may still be sent. Requests to access, correct, or delete applicable personal information may be sent to inquirycitk@gmail.com. CITK will review and respond within a reasonable period, subject to applicable law, identity verification, technical feasibility, and legitimate recordkeeping needs. Certain records may be retained for financial reporting, disputes, fraud prevention, safety, or legal compliance.

The website and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, measure performance and usage, and help prevent fraud. Where required, guests will be given available choices about nonessential technologies.

CITK’s services are not directed to children under 13, and CITK does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian involvement.

10

Acceptance and event-specific terms

By completing a reservation, the purchaser confirms that they have reviewed and accepted these policies and agrees to communicate applicable arrival, conduct, allergy, accessibility, and transfer requirements to every guest included in the reservation.

Additional terms appearing on an individual event page—including the date, location, arrival time, payment deadline, refund deadline, age requirements, menu, and accessibility information—apply to that experience. If a clearly disclosed event-specific term conflicts with these general policies, the event-specific term controls.

These policies apply to purchases made on or after the effective date shown below. Material changes will not retroactively reduce the refund, transfer, or cancellation rights attached to an existing confirmed reservation.
